Organizational Strategic Planning (Four Phases)
Phase One: Analysis
Includes the development of planning questions; defining the core function; conducting an environmental scan and a strengths and weaknesses/opportunities and threat (SWOT) analysis; the creation of a realistic vision; and the development of a vision statement.
Phase Two: Planning
Includes the identification of long-range goals; the identification of specific performance objectives; and the identification of performance measures and targets for each objective.
Phase Three: Implementation
Includes the development of an operational plan; the creation of action items; the development of management process techniques.
Phase Four: Measurement and Evaluation
Includes determining which aspects of projects should be measured; determining appropriate data collection procedures; and the selection of methods to assess and report progress.
